Backing Up Threads/Texts?

Hey guys. I'm probably gonna root + flash my Desire, but I want to keep all my Thread's/Text's. How can I back them up, so when I have my flashed ROM they'll just appear back there in the same thread's as they did before they flash it?

SMS Backup+ will back them up to your GMail account (automatically, if you want), and will restore from there (takes a while if you have many messages, but works, and the automation has saved me before now).

I also have MyBackup, which will back them up to SD - faster to restore, which is why I still use it even with SMS Backup+ installed. There are a number of other apps in the market that will do this as well.

The wipe will remove the apps, but you just re-install them from the market then restore the backup.

I also use My Backup for backing up my txt's and contacts. Very easy to use and does what it says.

I use SMS Backup & Restore, it writes all messages to a single XML file on your CD card which you can then easily backup to your PC.
