Help Backing up!!!

Whenever I try to back up my S3 using Kies when it gets to certain folders such as Videos or Music it takes hours and hours to complete just that folder. I haven't yet been able to complete a full back up as it has just taken too long and I need to use the S3 This also happens with my Note 10.1

Why does Kies take so long to do this? Is there a more efficient way to back up the S3

^ not for vids/pics afaik?

Best way imo is if you have an SD card, use a file explorer to move all that stuff onto Sd Ext (external memory card) then its there and you can use a card reader on the pc to drag or copy stuff onto the pc.
Kies is a horrible piece of crap to be fair. Only use it for updating the phone :thumbup:

Tired Helium on my Note 10.1 but couldn't get it to work because it was always asking me for a backup password and taking me to the Settings Menu!!

If I had to restore my Note 10.1 to factory settings would that method enable me to put everything back onto the Note 10.1?
 
Yeah but only media. For apps youll (as the dude said) either be rooted and use an app like Titanium or if not rooted use the Helium app :)
 
Im rooted so ive never tried it and cant really help but whats the problem when you try it?
Its made by a well respected developer :thumbup:
