Help Backlight won't turn on

Hey everyone,

A few days ago I purchased a as-is droid off of ebay. The seller stated they didn't have a battery or cable to test it, so it was being sold without guarantee. It was in excellent shape so I decided to take a shot at it.

Well I received it today and the backlight won't turn on. When I turn it on I can angle it just right and see the screen and use the phone. I have gone into the settings and tried adjusting the brightness, but it just won't turn on.

I have searched on here, ebay and google for backlight replacement but can't find anything. Has anyone ever fixed the backlight on their phone? I'm thinking about taking it apart later and seeing if it possibly just a loose cable. Is there a moisture detector on here like the iphone?

Well the Droid I purchased had the exact problem. I"m REALLY frustrated with it in fact...no backlight. I sent it back, they sent me a replacement (and it TOO is not working, but I think for another reason..the on/off power button seems 'stiff' or stuck and it is not powering on.

They must have some really incompetent techs working on these phones...

urgh.
