Backup App

I have an unrooted Captivate which I'm about to perform the update on. However, before I do that... I would like to know if there is a free backup app aailable on the market which will backup EVERYTHING to SD (if such a thing exists)?

Free would be Titanium with root, however, I just paid for mine yesterday. I don't know if does backup to external, but I think it backed up to the internal SD card. I just plugged my phone in and transferred the backup file to PC for safe keeping.

I could be wrong about how the backup works, though.

nothing will do a complete backup without rooting, if your rooted then titanium backup is the most used i believe

Rooting is quick and painless with the "super one click" ap. You download the ap, hook up your phone, run the ap, and click a button. Easy as can be. I was leary of doing it to, but this was a breeze.

All it will remove is one's reluctance to root. Nothing else.

Yes, it does. For Titanium, navigate to Preferences (via soft menu key) then scroll down to Backup folder name and, for Froyo, the folder entered should be:

external_sd/TitaniumBackup
