Backup Application Data

Is there any application, free or paid, that lets you backup and restore application data and doesn't require root?

Yes. It's called app backup and reinstall.

That only backups the apk file but not the actual data. I need an app that backups data too

No, all the backup apps require root to backup the app's data.

1. Why do apps require that you root to backup data?
2. If I root to backup data, will I need to root on the other device in order to restore my data?
3. What is considered data? photos, videos, music, and login info?

My backup pro doesn't require root if I remember correctly.
