Help Backup files not appearing

I was given an RCA tablet and asked to reset it after backing up the files for the owner. I performed a backup from recovery mode, as the user cannot properly log in to the device. However, now that the backup has been performed to a micro SD card, the file does not show up when attempting to restore user data. How do I make sure the file is usable before I factory reset the tablet? When I plug the card into a computer, it shows two empty folders, a .backup2 file, and a .backup3 file, but when I go into recovery mode on the tablet, only the empty folders show up.

Plug your SD card to your computer and try this :

Acces to one of the files in the SD card and thane type in the search bar files extantions .

And Please next time before reseting your smartphones or any other device you have , check if the data that you Bucked up in your SD card, was backed up successfully.

The files appear when I put the SD card into the computer. However, while the tablet says there are 26GB of user files (which doesn't make sense as it's a brand new tablet besides a couple hours of video), the backup files are only approximately 2.1 GB. And when I plug the SD card back into the tablet the backup files aren't recognized, they simply don't show up in the options to back up from.

Alright the file showed up when I made another backup and it ended up with a simple .backup extension (no number attached). However, when I attempted to restore from that backup I got an error: checksum fail. I think at this point I'll just advise the user to take it back to Walmart and see what they can do.
