Backup Questions

1) Is "Nandroid" a generic name for an Android backup or is the name specific to ROM Manager?

2) Is a backup made within the ROM Manager the same as one created when I click "Nandroid" from the recovery screen?

3) Does doing a Nandroid backup through ROM Manager make having Titanium Backup unnecessary and redundant?

4) Once I've done a Nandroid and have the .img files on the SDCard and the SD card backed up on my PC, I can go ahead and remove bloatware or flash custom ROMs with (relative) safety because I can re-image my phone later with from the backup?

1. generic name for android backups
2. i believe so
3. i don't think rom manager saves the settings for your specific apps
4. correct

Thanks for the response.

Do you know what, if any, app will save the settings for e-mail and such? I can manually enter them if needed, but it's a bit tedious.

no problem! froyo saves your google settings so it'll always be there. other than that, i believe you'll have to reenter them if you haven't used a previous nandroid and you're flashing a new custom rom
