Help Backups without sd card?

Would you be able to transfer info between the PC and phones internal memory?
Also some apps have info you back up to the Sd card, what about that?

The internal memory will be partitioned. If you go to change a rom, this portion of the storage will not be touched. My gtab doesn't have an sdcard in it currently, and the only times I have to backup the internal storage is if I have to go back to complete stock. It should connect to your computer, no problem.

The system handles the internal storage the exact same way it does an SD card. The internal storage is even mounted in the same place an SD card would be mounted, /sdcard. Because of this, apps, system tools, whatever, will all see the internal storage the same way they'd see an SD card. As far as they're concerned, the internal storage IS and SD card.

The only difference is that you'd have to access it through the phone via USB instead of pulling out an SD card and plugging it into your computer.

I use my backup pro and was wondering how that would work. I didn't want to have to wright out a list off my apps and music.

It'll work the same way it does for your SD card phone. For your SD card phone, Mybackup Pro makes a folder called Rerware or something like that on your SD card and saves all the backups there. With the Galaxy Nexus (and any other Android phone devoid of an SD card), it'll make that same folder in the internal storage and you'll access it via USB to save it onto your computer. The app itself won't even know the difference between a phone with only internal storage and one with an SD card.

With that said, I imagine it's time for people to become fluent with adb as you won't be able to remove your sdcard in case of leaving a pg05img file in said partition.

With any luck ICS will have USB Host mode enabled. Then with a cheap OTG cable you should be able to mount an external USB Flash Adapter and backup to an SD card. This may not be as convenient as having a microSD but it's certainly functional.

What would be really cool (assuming USB host capability) is if somebody made a case that incorporated a secondary battery as well as a microSD slot. They'd probably sell a ton.
