Help Bad Battery?

I have an LG Motion and it recently started acting weird. I plug it in and it says that its slow charging, yet when my GF plugs in her phone it charges it perfectly fine so I doubt it's the charger. Earlier I left it charging for like an hour or 2 and it only got to 20% charge. Right now it's at 40% which is a Miracle. It feels like it's not holding its charge or that its charging slow. I was reading up on it and it could be a Bad Battery or a Messed up Charging port on the phone? Anyone else have these problems? Should I just get a new battery and hope thats the problem? I might just upgrade to a new Metro Phone

Im using a universal travel wall charger since the USB cord for my LG Motion got messed up. She has a TMobile My Touch. My phone takes long to charge and the battery drains so quick. It went from 100% to 77% in like about an hour and a half. Maybe it is a battery issue?

Take a close look at that universal charger, see what the rated output current is. The Motion (like most current 4G phones) requires a charger with a minimum 1A output for full-rate charging. If you use one with a lower output rating, say 500ma, the phone will slow-charge only. The same will happen if you plug it into a PC USB 2.0 port which can only supply 500ma.
As for the short battery life, the Motion isn't normally too bad in that regard. It's possible the battery is getting weak but I'd also check to see what is running on the phone. You may have some apps or services that are pulling a lot of data and causing excess draw on the battery.

Simple solution:

Get another usb charger cord. Using messed up charger cords often screw with the battery by showing a higher percentage than it actually is because it goes in and out basically giving it a jolt of energy. This is also the same for taking the charger out and plugging it back in multiple times. When that happens, I usually reboot the phone and it shows the actual percentage of the battery.

So yeah, definitely get a new usb cord.
