Bad headset jack / How to disable headset controls altogether

TivoTron

Newbie
Like many, I've had a real problem with a loose headphone jack on my Droid. As the jack gets moved (bumped in my pocket, for example) it causes the music player to turn on/off, which is super annoying. To describe it better, if I were to hold onto the headphone end piece where it connects and move it around, I can trigger the music on and off...it must be moving the connector inside somehow.

Had the Droid replaced once. New Droid - same issue. Crap!

New idea --- Is there any way to entirely disable the headphone's ability to control to Droid? My thought is that if I can turn that off altogether, it will no longer be a concern that it's loose.

Help please!!!

Thanks.

Have a look at this thread.
Hope it helps.

Thanks Ken. I've actually tried that widget previously. Unfortunately, even with it enabled, if my headphone cord gets wobbled or the part that goes into the jack is touched, it will turn the music ON/OFF.

So annoying! I'm hoping someone can advise as to a better fix!!!

I'm sorry but it seems as if you broke your phone in a way that your headset could not connect and stay connected with out unconnecting in this case if you're phone didn't pause the music it would play through your speakers the only way around this is Bluetooth or an adapter to your charger like the way iPhone 7 people do it best of luck bud
