Hey guys, new member, old Android user. Just picked up my replacement phone from Sprint last night, along with receiving my Ballistics case in the mail yesterday morning. Took the case with me to the store and popped the new phone right into the case. Okay, the oil slick is there, so Ballistics included a screen protector to solve that issue. I applied it and no oil slick. The kickstand is crap, eventually, it will break if used! The Phone is the same size as the Defender w/o using the optional silicone layer. The headphone jack plug will rip off, as they did not secure it to the rest of the sleeve with a strong connection. The built-in screen protector smudges like a mother, which I hate, as I had the Seinhell AF screen protector on my last Evo. Other than that, this case is awesome. Another note, this case is extremely hard to snap apart, which I like. And the holster is tight when the phone is in it. Overall, awesome case! If any of you were wondering why I got a replacement phone, it was because my phone kept "powercycing". Not sure if one of my apps was causing it, or if it was due to the HW Version (HW 2), but they gave me a 3. I have noticed that the phone boots a little quicker! Other than that, enjoy this case until the next greatest phone comes out to Sprint.

if you look at my video i posted the kickstand snapped off but did not break. the kickstand is connected by two dimples that fit into notches on either side of the case. if you hyper extend the kickstand, it pulls apart from the case. id rather that happen then to have the stand break off and not be usable.

the oil slick is caused by moist air between the screen and protector. the baby powder mod works 100% which you should try. the oil slick does not render the screen inoperable nor does it hurt the screen--its mainly an eye sore. the talcum powder eliminates this.

I ordered my case on the 15th and ive been all over youtube and google trying to find some reviews.. and oh my i found this site and i was amazed on how yall guys had this thread and videos and pics! it was amazing!! I joined the site just to say thanks and special shout out to "marctronixx" for posting the first video! good job man! and thanks! LOL I was really searching and searching for some videos or pictures and man this site had them.. awesome! Hoping to get my case on monday!!

LOL great to have you on board! i also have the black/black case and made a video on it. you will LOVE this case!! stick around... :)

Have any of you had problems with the proximity sensor working after installing the case? Heard a guy saying that after he put the case on the screen doesn't shut off when he is talking on the phone. That would be a major letdown if it blocks that sensor for me.

that a negative. i just made a call and the sensor works 100%. what conditions was the guy using the phone in? was it plugged up? etc etc... ?

i got your back scott! this case is AWESOME! i have not purchased a case for a phone in years... however once i saw this one it was like... wow... lol...

Just a FYI for anyone who cares, I believe that the included screen protector helps with the oil slick effect. I originally had just an sgp crystal clear protector and it created an oil slick effect, but when I put on the included one, there was no oil slick effect.

Okay guys I am just curious do you think it will be possible to use ballastic case and power mat? Obviously will be modding of the case but my question mainly would be okay and still charge through the casing. Thats without the thick silicone cover.

First off nice bike, I have older Yammies from the 70's. Anyways, Powermat obviously works off electromagnetic induction, which is just a big coil generating electricity through the air. If the magnetic current is strong enough to penetrate the HC case, then yes, it will work. But, the Powermat case still plugs into your USB port, which causes a bumpout in the case design that I am pretty sure the HC case will not accomodate. A lot of people forget about that! However, if you want my opinion on this, unless you have more than two devices that need charging, it's easier and cheaper to keep your phone plugged into your USB port of your computer, or AC outlet. Keep in mind the battery door is $35+ for the Evo, and the power mat is another $50+. $80+ dollars for wireless charging? Go on ebay and buy two extra batteries and a wall charger for $10!
