Root Barnacle or Wifi for root?

OK, I'm finally gonna grow some balls and try to tether with my Optimus Elite (VM). Should I use Barnacle or "Wifi tether for Root Users"? Also, any advice before I use them?

I have used both and Barnacle never seems to work well with me.could be my setup don't know never looked into it.I used wifi tether and it worked the first time. But if fyi it drained my battery real quick when only a iPad was browsing craigslist. Do keep it on the charger.
