Barometer not working! (S6)

Got the S6 yesterday and noticed that barometer is stuck on 5.4 meters and doesn't respond to any input. My old S4 and Note 1 is working fine.
My service provider doesn't want to exchange the device as Samsung SA is having the same problem with their units, and the chances getting a replacement unit that's also faulty is pretty high.
Has anyone else picked it up?
In phone mode press *#0*#
Select "Sensors" and whalla! The Barometer may be dead!
I've got 2 friends that claim that theirs are working just fine though.....

Yep, mine working fine (Samsung Galaxy S6 128Gig - SM-G920F).

Tested everything in there on very first boot up, always do. :) Just tested the barometer again for this thread.

Thanks for the tip on the app. Just grabbed it and will test it out when I get to the shore. I'll be curious to see how the altimeter works out.

I got new S6 at end of April. I am in Utah area. It took me a week or two to decide barometer was not working. Went to ATT store. The S6 and S6 edge phones that they had were not working either. Wrote email to Samsung tech. They claimed to be unaware of any barometer problem. They replied and gave various instructions to trouble shoot including hard reset. I have now been to five ATT stores and one verizon and not found any S6 or edge with working barometers. All S5 phones indicated working barometers. By now I have checked about 20 S6 type phones and none of the barometers work. Also checked two note 4 phones and barometer also was not working. Have been checking using *#0*# code which a techie guy at first ATT store researched. I Have many phone calls to ATT trying to get action. Have four contacts with Samsung tech support trying to get action. ATT has sent two replacements that also have non working barometers. I have been very firm with these support people that this issue needs to be escalated to higher authorities. It has proven near impossible to get any meaningful action. Currently waiting for supervisor reply from Samsung. I think he will just say send your phone for repair. I am trying to get ATT to send Samsung a phone to repair for me. They so far will not entertain the idea. Both ATT and samsung are nice and saying they want to solve this for me, but so far they really have evaded doing anything meaningful.

:mad:Samsung SA is also not refusing to say anything. Some guys sugested that it's a firmware problem, but I doupt it. To date I also couldn't hold a S6 in my hands that's got a working barometer.
Please let me know if anyone gets any reselution to this matter.

Where is the barometer? I tried the sensor test and it shows the barometer sensor is working fine on my S6 edge, but I don't have any barometer app! Did your phones come with S Baro pre installed or is there some other app you are talking about?

Mine appears to be working when using the weather station app. Also when using the *#0*# code. Having said that I am using a UK handset.
