Help Basic Android OS on Galaxy S?

Hi! I ask stupid questions sometimes, so sorry if this is one, but all the pictures and viddeos I've seen of the Galaxy S, the stuff on the screen looks like iPhone, and I hate that, I like the Nexus One because you can put stuff all over the place and have a live wallpaper and those cool widgets like the Home++ thingy, and apparently the Nexus is just basic Android, so is it possible if I got a Galaxy S to strip it down to the basic Android OS like the Nexus? I saw a YouTube video called turning a HTC Desire into a Nexus One where the disabled HTC Sense and got basic Android, so is there a similar thing you can do on the Galaxy S or not, because if not I might get the Desire instead.

You can have all the fancy widgets just like other phones youve seen, Its when you press the apps shortcut it turns all IPhone LOL

Install launcherpro from the marked and you will get a stock android look

Also, sounds like there is now a stock ROM running around at XDA according to my RSS reader and Gizmodo today.
