basic java graphics to android?

hi,

i just bought an Acer Iconia tablet for my 13 yr old son & since we're not
going home till next month i'd been playing with it & i realized this is no play thing but a serious machine! more reading told me the OS is Linux derivative & i love Linux.
as i continue downloading games for my son i keep reading.
i worked as a guitarist but i had a stroke last year which makes my left hand & fingers still weak so i can't work for the moment.
however my right hand is ok so i,ve taken up programming again. i used to
code in BASIC, assembly language, C++,& JAVA.
so i gotta ask you & hope you can reply:

I've written code in java, basic animation using primitive graphics. Can these codes be converted to android 'as is?'
i'm becoming tempted to be an android app coder!

Not sure about your graphics animation question...the Java is clearly portable syntactically of course, but not sure how it will play with the framework that apps use to display their user interface.

You could post a query in our Application Development area and see if someone is already familiar with your question.
