Basix for R910 Ver 1.0 first impression

Thank you so much. Huge fan. One question...well, statement.... my battery can be fully charged, but if I reboot it's less than half. I've deep charged the battery and calibrated it as well. Any ideas?
It's an issue with the phone. Nothing I can do about it.

well, it was working fine, now it seems to be locking up the touchscreen, to where i have to reboot it to get it to start, and its start to lag really hard.. is anyone else having this issue? i havent installed any new apps at all recently, so im at a loss as to what it could be..
Clear cache and dalvik-cache.

This may be off topic, but does this phone have a 3g indicator?
Yes.

Alright, I have tried all roms, Exodus, Basix and Stock, and they are all fine depending on your taste, thank you Konane. But I rather stay with stock, however, if you are using a 3500mah battery like in my case and you try to reboot the phone no matter what rom you are using, it loses like half of it's battery life. It seems that this phone is programmed to die after it feels that your battery has been exceeded in usage for 1500mah, then the next thing that happens is that your 4G will stop working , the 4G icon remains sending data only and not receiving anything; causing you to make a reboot to fix it and you expect the battery life to remain the same but it doesn't. You can still make phone calls and the battery will be ok, but 4G will still not work even if you put it in airplane mode and switch back. This is when I used to think that it was the rom's fault but I have concluded that is actually a factory bug. I really wish that someone could help to fix this, we had enough already with a bulky $300 phone.:mad::(

I would just like to add my .02 regarding battery life. Initially (first few days) I was also disappointed with the battery life. As others have reported, it seemed to me as well to be, in fact, worse than stock! I couldn't believe it. So I was patient and waited a few days. Eventually, the battery life got much, much better! I now routinely get 12 - 14 hours on a charge with light usage. This was unheard of before using Basix. So be patient, and give it a couple weeks!

This - these are strange beasts. But I can 100% guarantee battery improvements after calibration with what's been put in Basix. Always. So give it time.

anybody have radio problems. When I have basix installed i get limitation on my range. my girlfriend and i both have the r910 and when she has 4g i have 3g/1x and when she has 3g i have only 1x.... I cannot find out why either.

Basix in absolutely no way modifies the modem, or changes any radio-related parameters. Check your baseband version in Settings > About Phone - if LTE shows unknown, you got hit by Metro's lovely update somewhere along the line.

I will say in all fairness that I still have yet to do a proper, by the book calibration (or any calibration, for that matter). Maybe that's why, after a couple weeks of full charge / discharge cycles, with some battery pulls, reboots, etc. thrown in, it kind of starts to calibrate itself somewhat? Or at least improve battery life? I will try and do a calibration one of these days, and then report back...

Well ok I just rooted this beast and I was wondering about how much longer will the stock battery last with basix. Anywhere from 5-10% longer would be great and higher than that would be awesome. Just wanna get a few opinions before I decide on installing basix or keeping stock rom.

Same here. I have been running Basix now for about a week and the battery life that used to only las about 2hrs or less while multitasking will now last more than 5hrs while multitasking. By multi I mean using the phone...messaging..4g internet...video and or music. I am totally amazed at the improved battery life. I should have done stats before I switched to Basix but if it didn't improve the battery I was gonna sell it so I didn't bother. Basix really made me want to keep this phone. I just found out today, completely by accident, that if you remove your micro SD card When you are using 4G intene it will actually charge the battery instead of draining it. As some people may have found out ,this phones battery will die, even if you have it plugged in,while using 4G internet.

i live in vegas and always have wifi around i finally used **583385## put in it cdma only made and get 1 day 15 hours battery life with moderate use 2 days with little use and only turn 4g on when i need it maps work fine without 4g for me its worth the battery life increase i just wish i could get a boot sound running

I am new to all of this, but I recently rooted and installed basix and my battery lasts me all day, with on and off usage. I do have the extended battery, but even still, with the stock rom, my extended battery still only lasted about an hour or so longer. with Basix, like i said, it lasts all day, and i have pretty long days, 7a-8p away from home. I dont even really too much care for basix, or it could be that i don't really know what im doing. The pull down menu, the blue, not my cup of tea!!! Although, I can appreciate it still because when I had stock rom, my pull down menu rarely, "pulled down" it always got stuck. On the basix, i dont get notifications for games, which is SUPER annoying, but then again, it could very well just be the actual game (although its 4 different ones) BUT basix is SUPER fast and is MUCH MUCH MUCH more stable than stock rom, my phone has RARELY crashed (i think once) and the stock, would crash like every other day. so my little complaint about basix are just that- LITTLE compared with the bull I put up with on stock.

Noble effort but ended up Odin'ing back to the EE07 stock rom. Didn't like that there are no ringtones and the swype keyboard wasn't my cup of tea. Made a nandroid backup and instead of keeping root and all that, I just flashed. Don't get me wrong it was nice and fast and I noticed my extended battery lasting about 5 hours longer than normal when idle. But I prefer stock, for now. Maybe later I'll re-root and put cwm on it again. But for now, nah.

Its cool if you like stock, but the no ringtones issue has a fix posted many times in this forum and is simply deleting one file. Also, you can download any keyboard you want from the market, like Gingerbread, GO, SwiftX, or Ice Cream Sandwich, etc.

Ah, see I didn't check out the fix. I ended up putting the gingerbread keyboard on before flashing (since that is what I am comfortable with, my last device was 2.3) and I won't bother flashing again since next week I am probably picking up an esteem and giving my wife this phone (after i bought some screen protectors and an extended battery! But I want a front facing camera for skype since I do remote troubleshooting and tech support as well as conferencing on the go a lot of the time, and I hate carrying a laptop!)

*** Update: So I was told my hours were going to get cut drastically at my job, so getting an Esteem is off the table. I am giving Basix a second try, since I absolutely HATE TouchWiz. And I was using the stock rom for about a week and after that time it became extremely slow and unresponsive. So I am going to try this. I already applied the fix for the no-ringtones and so far the phone seems stable. I have to calibrate the battery but other than that, this seems faster.

Okay, I have a worrysome problem, not sure if it has anything.to do with ROM or not. So, lastnight I plugged my.phone up like every other normal American and went to sleep. I woke up to a blazing.hot battery, and 0% charge!!! So I figured, dl a battery calibrator. So I plugged the phone up and yes I fell asleep, this time I woke up to a blazing hot battery and 87% charge. I have not had any problems until now, please help! Idk what happens cause thus far I have been asleep each time the charging process goes whacko! I posted here because I have yet to see the " battery temp too high" message with basix.

I installed root explorer, mount as r/w, deleted the files but after rebooting the nomedia file still there. Also it seems the file .nomedia file is in two places.
Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?

I copied all the notifications, if that's what your doing, and made my own folder and moved them. Everything is in order and works perfectly now.

I hate to say it but I seem to be having similar problems. Lately my battery has been draining extremely fast (I mean 20 to 30% an hour). Sometimes the phone heats up either moderately or to blazing for no reason I can discern. Sometimes I'll reboot the phone (or it will reboot itself) and I'll go from 50 or 40% to 10% (or less). Charging has gone to crap. Before I could charge off of an AC charger in about 2 to 3 hours (I think). Now it is much longer and sometimes the phone gets very hot (sometimes a reboot, removing the battery or changing the charging source but it isn't consistent). Sometimes it gets hot and doesn't seem to charge at all.

I don't know if it is the eBay battery, Basix, Electric Sheep, an app, or some combination of the 4 causing this but I wish I had a solution. I've tried calibrating the battery (charging to full with phone off, then wiping battery stats - right?) but that hasn't helped. Have wipe caches to no avail (not that I expected that to work). My next step I suppose is hard wipe it and maybe add apps back slowly and if that doesn't work ODIN it. I don't particularly want to do either. So any suggestions or recommendation for apps to monitor apps and processes for battery drain is going to appreciated (the battery info screen helps but I think I need more details).

Thanks for any thoughts.
