Root Battery Calibration Problem

I have recently done battery calibration of my HTC Desire and found that it has gone a bit wild. I am using Mildwild 2.9.5 ROM. I used Battery Calibration by Nema. Followed all the instruction to the letter. After I thought my battery usage did improve. I did this about week + back but since I had been charging my phone before battery went below 20% but on Saturday I was using my phone, battery was 20% plus but the phone suddenly turned off saying it needs to be charged. Today again coming back from work the battery was about 20% plus and I was surfing the net. Again the phone switched for the same reason. Never had this problem before I did the Calibration. Now I am wondering what the problem is and how to sort it out.

Has anyone had this problem before? Can it be resolved?

Plenty of threads about this one mate. Have a look for the Nexus battery calibration method. Apparently it takes time and precision. I've learnt to peacefully co-exist with my 15% death.

It's actually not that hard. Do it before bed. Setup the app with the settings mentioned. Put it in learn mode 2% before it restarts. Watch the screen and plug in the charger the moment it prompts to. Then charge to full without touching the phone

I should look into it more, but truth be told I'm not that fussed by it.. Kinda like when your clock is fast and you know it.
But it doesn't mean I should remain ignorant of the technique used to correct it. I was always under the impression that correcting was quite time consuming and laborious.

It can take 5 minutes or so of watching the screen to ensure you plug teh charger in. But set screen brightness to full, time out to 30 minutes and GPS polling on, it speeds up a lot.

Then its just leaving it charging...

I have recently recalibrated. I still cant get past the whole, 20% is not 5% thing...

One advantage for me though is before calibrating at 15% I'd get the plug in charger warning then it would just die immediately. Now I actually have 15% to get to that charger.

calibrated my battery. its still working now at 7% nice to get a bit more out of it, although it did seem to discharge quite quick

You're not getting more out of it, Youre just changing what the last % you can use registers at. It will still hold the same amount of "power" its just the 15% that it shuts down at is now showing as 0% or whatever.

You've essentially taken 85% of the battery and crammed 100% in the same "space" so each % is a little bit smaller, making each % last less....

ahh i see, i thought this was so u can use the full 100% of the battery, so if ur using the same amount of power ur not gaining anything by doing this other than it shutting down at 0%?

Found an easier solution to this. The solution was actually suggested in other forums so I take no credit. I just simply ran the calibration app again. And everything is back to normal!
