Battery changes in 2.3?

I know its only been a day, but has anyone noticed any sort of battery changes yet? Lasted longer, shorter? Personally i feel like its the same, but only time will tell.

I used the leaked 2.3 and this one is using battery a bit faster I don't know why, maybe is just me, though this final official version is way faster and pretty snappy

also we just have to wait for HTC to release the source code so the devs can make a nice kernel which often improves battery life and of course the best of all Overclocking

I noticed the battery drained faster since the upgrade. But at this point I've written if off as not to be concerned.

A. New toy syndrome- checking out the improvements
B. Spring cleaning of apps I don't need and rediscovery of the hidden gems
C. Upgrade caused some of the power saving settings to go back to default

It would be interesting to see if GB gains or drains on the battery life compared to Froyo.

I've been running Gingerbread since Thursday and I'd say my battery is lasting a bit longer. Today I used the navigation app to get somewhere and spent some time on twitter and on the phone and I still have 63% left. That's substantially better than what I was getting with Froyo. We'll see, I guess, but so far I'm very happy with the upgrade. No issues here at all.

My battery drains FAST! This new update is killing my Shift ugh!

Are you using some sort of task killer? Live wallpaper or getting frequent updates from Facebook or a Twitter app?

I've found that my battery life has actually gotten much better with this new update. I'm running the phone stock, not rooted, no task killer. I've also made updates/notifications on FB and my Twitter app (Seesmic, not Peep) manual.

Personally speaking I found using a task killer actually made my battery life worse. Lookout was also a big battery drainer and I switched to Antivirus Free.

I've only had my Shift for a little over 5 weeks (stock 2.2) and the battery life was not that impressive compared to my iPad, and only marginally better than my BB Curve 8300.
I upgraded over the weekend after putting it through some benchmarks (streaming video via 4 G, keeping display active for extended periods of time) it's soo much better.
I've found that even the charging is better a full charge with only 30% life takes a bit but if I charge uninterrupted for 30min I get a good bump.
