Battery Charging, but its not?

So i plug my phone into the charger at 72% about an hour ago and now its on 62%. Any ideas on how this happened

I use a battery monitoring app and there are occasions, especially if the charger is only supplying 500 ma usb current that the phone actually draws more from the battery than what the charger is able to provide.

what kind of charger are you using? is it the OEM htc charger? there is some chargers out there that barley charge your phone, is your phone getting really warm when its charging?

They have been the same the past 3 months ive had the phone

this sounds like a hardware issue to me you might need to get a replacement, or it could easily be a battery issue i suggest buying a new battery if that does not work go ahead and get a replacement virgin should replace it.

If it's been happening for three months, how has it not died yet?

And usually this kind of thing happens to me when I use a bad charger or charge via USB. It just delays it from dying rather than actually charging it up.

Bad charger, too low of power from the charger and/or a power hungry app.

Could even be a battery calibration error.
