Help battery charging over night?

Will leaving the battery charging over night a bad idea? I can't seem to get a full charge during the day.

What i would do is, if you dont have an alarm or you wont be using your phone while you are asleep is to turn it off and charge it.
That way you will have a full 100% charge.

So there aren't any ill effects for leaving the phone plugged to the charger after it's completely charged?

there can be but nothing hardware wise... what can happen is the OS can realize that u r charging for way too long and then start to not worry abiut power as much basically but as long as u dont sleep for more than 36Hours at a time lol then u r okay. seriously as long as the ohone isnt plugged in for more than ATLEAST 6 hours after chargung. more like 8-19 but thats it and its not hardware it OS and that is EASILY fixed with a button HaHa to bring everything back to normal so dont worry about it.

Yeah most battery have overcharging protection chips.;

yup yup so no problems there... now i mean with ridiculous charging times like leavingq it on for longer than wat i posted above can end up hurting battery life SPAN because of the possibilities of memory technology

Awesome info, guys. Now i won't feel bad using the phone all day and just charging the battery over night. Thanks a lot.

I've made it a habit to stick my phone on the lifeline every night while I sleep but I use it for an alarm so I don't turn it off.

Here's another question I'm sure someone will have: will short charges during the day hurt the battery's memory? Like for example realizing you're at 30 percent in the middle of the day and plugging into your car charger for a quick boost while you go to class or something.

Shouldn't hurt it at all. I still use 2x battery from the market to toggle data off when I won't be using the phone to save precious juice:thumbup:

I always charge my battery at night with no problem.:) But this morning i woke up to an extremely HOT phone and a heat warning to take the battery out or something like that:eek:, I was half asleep, so unplugged it right away and the phone cooled down a lot. Another thing, usually when I get up its at 100% but not this morning?!?:confused: Any thougts??

I leave mine on and plugged in all night. Actually I've never actually turn the phone off since getting it except when I calibrated the battery. Batteries are pretty advanced now to were they don't burn up from charging too long.

I was always afraid my phone would be defective in some way if I left my phone charged over night but it hasn't so I still charge my phone overnight lol Knowing the esteem doesn't need the whole night to charge, it does take a long time to charge to full battery luckily I use batteryminder to give me a somehow accurate temp of the battery :)

Lithium Ion batteries do not have cell memory. NiCAD and NiMH batteries are the ones that have that problem.

+1.. Been about 3 months now and only turn it off for the occasional reboot or it runs out of juice.. No problems..

I have an extended battery and it lasts all a
Day but if i let it go down to one percent it will not be fully charged when i wake up in the morning. I have to turn off my data or turn off my phone theen charging time goes sownto like four hours.
