Help Battery charging port

My charging port has started having issues holding various chargers as well as connecting to my Phillips dock. Anyone experienced this yet and is so any ideas on a fix other than replacing the phone? Don't want to go though rooting and everything else again if I can avoid it. I can still charge it but it is almost like the port is to wide to the charger now.
 
If it is the port rooting wouldn't be any help, unfortunately your only option would be a replacement. Especially when using a dock you have to be careful aligning the port.

Any chance of getting inside the phone and crushing the USB port down a little so that it's more snug? You could also find a local repair shop to replace the USB port. It won't be cheap, but should be less than a brand new EVO V (which are selling for a bargain of $149 right now)
 
Replacement phone on the way. Decided to just get the replacement as my touch screen has gone dead on the right side as well meaning p and 0 and the like never respond. Not looking forward to rooting and s-offing again as it about gave me a nervous breakdown the first time :^)
