Battery Charging

I've had the Inspire for over a week now and the battery life up until today has been less than impressive. Yesterday I let it die completely and then charged the phone while off. When I went to bed I left it plugged in but turned it on. I took it off the charger at 5:30am and as of 11:00pm and I still have 10% left with moderate to heavy use. The day before I took it off at 8am and it was about to die by 7pm. Does charging the battery with the phone off make that much of a difference or did something else happen? I love the phone but up until today the battery was killing me.

yes it makes a dramatic difference. If you look in the battery thread you will see I have been doing it this way and I get 15+ hours and others now are doing it and improving battery life

More than likely what's really happening is when you allow the battery to fully discharge, you're forcing the software in the phone to calibrate the battery gauge.

+1

Considered "calibrating" the device to the battery, by some users.

Done a few times over several charging cycles can make the battery meter, and any battery monitoring apps/widgets, a bit more accurate.
