Help Battery dies QUICKLY when you don't have cell coverage!

Noticed this today when i was basically underground all day.

Basically, i am confirming this on the Inspire (based on my experience) that with very sporadic and or no cell coverage, you battery will die MUCH MUCH faster!

...perhaps should switch to airplane mode when in this situation...

Yup, this is known issue on all phones (even my company Nokia dies after half a day with no reception-.

Sort of.

I'm pretty sure android isn't that smart in dead zones, and in fact boosts the antenna power trying in vain to get a signal. It seems to be a much larger issue on smart phones than dumb phones, imo.

I didn't read the link so maybe this was covered but try turning off "always on mobile data" see if that helps save the battery a bit more. I have it disabled on my phone and go 7am to midnight with 30% left when I plug it in at night.
