Battery doesn't charge if you use the phone???

Hi all..

I bought an s 2 on Monday and while I understand the battery life on the phone is not going to be great I am concerned that when I plug the phone into the charger it can't keep up with just using the phone to surf the web.

I had an iPhone and plugging it in meant I could do anything and it would still gain battery charge.

What should I expect?

You can still use it while you charge, however since it seems to be on a trickle charger (which is better for charging at night and the battery health) it won't charge as fast when you're using it. I had it set up using a mobile hotspot while charging and it steadily charged.
 
Is there an alternative to a trickle charger?

I use my phone a LOT and I usually can keep it at 100% just by plugging it into the usb port on my computer at work.

I noticed words with friends while charging will still charge every so slightly but I'm really not happy with this and am willing to pay for an alternative that doesn't include buying a 2nd batter to carry around.
 
How long do you guys usually take to fully charge the phone from like 10% of battery life? I just got this phone 4 days ago and it took me more than 2 hours to have it fully charged from 10-20%!
 
Well, apparently it doesn't charge if you plug it in while the warning to charge is on unless you hit 'OK' or "Cancel' on the warning. I plugged it in with that warning up and came back almost two hours later and it was at 8% still, with the popup still up! X_X

Normally, it takes about 2-3 hours for it to fully charge from 10% or so btw. Yours may have a problem if it took two hours to get 10%.
 
OK it's been charging almost 5 hours now (I left home and left it charging) and I get back and it's only at 24%. So something was obvs wrong, the phone was burning hot. I have a widget that shows battery temp and it was at 112F! But of course it was my fault. I left words with friends not only running in the background, but open >.< Cuz I'm an idiot.
 
For the first 24 hours, charging took forever. It seems to be getting better though. Battery life has improved as well. I had to turn off auto sync and disable background data. I also had to disable GPS. Plus, Juice Defender is very good. I recommend that app.
