okay so my phone lately been overheating and its battery has been draining quickly!!
So i called my friend one day, and talked to him for 30 mins about work and stuff, and next thing i know it was really hot! my face would hurt whenever i placed it next to it.
Like really overheating, same thing happened when i did a 3-way-call with other friends. Now its not just the phone calls, when i open any app and use it for like 10 mins, and it overheats, My OC is 691 MHz! Im running CM7 PG latest build (7282011).
Now about the other problem, The battery draining: I only have one major app running in the backround, and thats a weather app. It just goes down so quick. Like 3 hours and its already 10%.
so can you guys help me

I thought the battery drain was just part of the Huawei experience. I have noticed some heat issues as well, although not to the extent you are. Interesting.

Turn off the following if not needed/desired:

1) WI-FI

2) GPS(BTW, if you don't use GOOGLE MAPS,uninstall GOOGLE MAPS,this is a big drag on our CPU challenged phones)

3) AUTO SYNC(SETTINGS > ACCOUNTS)

4) BRIGHTNESS(Try turning it back to 50%-75%,this is one of the biggest demands on the battery)

5) WEATHER WIDGETS(If this is a must have, perhaps turn back the update interval a bit to conserve battery)

6) SIGNAL:Battery levels will plummet if the phone is constantly trying to connect, due to a weak signal in your area.If you aren't relying on the signal connection for a prolonged period of time, put the plane in 'AIRPLANE MODE' until signal connectivity is needed again.

My apologies if this list of recommendations seems to take a bit of the 'SMART' out of our 'Smartphones',but, that's the reality we have w/the combination of the ANDROID O/S & hardware that is the ASCEND.
Pick what you can sacrifice from this list to extend battery life.
Also, don't feel as if the ASCEND community is the only one that experiences this. With a few exceptions, all ANDROID users experience this to a certain degree.*

*For those that have had their ASCEND for a long time, the battery probably doesn't hold a charge as well as it used to.So a decision is lurking around the corner:

Do you want to invest in a new battery,or,put that money towards the purchase of another phone.
