Root battery drain coredroid v7.1

Any one have any advice on how to stop battery drain on my dhd? Using coredroid 7.1 and its going down about 1% every 5 mins :(

Welcome to the forums!

I am not familiar with coredroid, but that does sound a little excessive!! :(

How long have you had it on your DHD? How often have you got your phone set up to sync?

i did bump before I got other replies sorry lol

Battery being used by display (80%!!!!) turned down screen brightness to really low, battery still going down about 1% per 5 mins.. really ridiculous IMO

No worries!!

1% per 5 mins is bad... perhaps it was a bad flash though... may eb worth reflashing, to see if it's any better!

The screen will always be the biggest drain, are there any specific apps on there?

Check your WiFi settings Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> WiFi Settings -> Menu button -> Advanced -> WiFi Best Performance (uncheck that if it's checked. Also, only an option on Sense based ROMs).

Also, try calibrating the battery, download Current Widget, place the widget on your homescreen, then charge until it reaches 0mAh. Then wipe the battery stats in clockwork or download something like this and let that do it for you. Let the battery die completely, then charge again fully.

Lastly, you could try Fixing Permissions from clockwork, I'm not sure if that would make a difference, but there's no harm in giving it a go.

i think I have an old radio, but have no idea how to sort it out, now lost the version I had.. if anyone can find me a link to download coredroid 7.1 with the right radio I'll give you a million quid lol

Select the Display on the list of whats draining your battery and let us kinow screen on time. Also a screenshot of the graph page (tap the graph at the top to bring up another screen of info) and post that so we can have a look at the bar below where it says Awake. If this is solid blue and not broken up with big gaps with a barcode type effect you have an eroneous app thats doing constant CPU cycles.

The link doesn't work, I can't find any earlier version either :( Maybe I shouldn't have rooted!! :(

I just tested and it takes me to the Coredroid download thread on XDA.

Read Stu's post above yours, have you tried any of that? It does sound like you have an app in the background eating away at something.

[ROM][03 AUG] CoreDroid HD V7.1 & V7.5 | SENSE | STABLE & FAST | LEE KERNEL |ONLINE - xda-developers

There's the coredroid download from xda.

Check your radio version in the Software Information menu.

Settings -> About Phone -> Software Info (It's the baseband version).

Right, radio version: 12.28b.60.140.eU_26.03.02,26_M

I am on miui 1.7.29 atm and can honestly say I hate it as it always force closes and all previous versions are crap too. When I try and get the download link for Coredroid 7.1 it just FCs again! This is turning into a nightmare. It doesn't help either that I'm a bit of a novice at all of this rooting business tbh x

Don't stress about it lol you're fine and novice aside your in safe hands on here. Best thing to do is download coredroid to your pc and flop your sd card onto it to. Copy the rom.zip to the sd and turn your phone off and when you boot up use power and vol- together to get to the boot loader and get into recovery. (I'm guessing you flashed ClockworkMod? If so go through the process of full factory reset and flash coredroid followed by the recommended kernel and reboot. Once done boot up and then make sure you apply the right radio/ril. The best source for all the downloads etc is XDA.

+1.

If you're a novice and already rooted, you're already doing better than most.

haha true, so how does this radio thing work? can it affect the battery life? and what if it goes wrong? oh and can someone find me a link to the battery for coredroid 7.1 please? i'm not being lazy, just I wouldn't even know where to start looking, + I'm trying to write a job app (hence why I'm on here most of the day as i'm out of work :( x

The radio can have an effect on battery life but flashing a new one is probably the most dangerous thing you can do with your phone aside from taking it to the shower with you.

It is very easy, but it is risky too.

From the looks of the Coredroid thread, they don't recommend one, they say you can flash a RIL via clockwork instead (a lot less dangerous). I'll have a read up when I get a spare moment and see which one goes with your current radio.

Right, core droid is officially crap. Installed it, now all it does is FC and reboot itself. so I'm avoiding it like the plague. I like the sense thingy and the look of the stock rom. can anyone finally recommend a better rom? im looking for smoothness, and if poss great battery life. Cheers.. if this doesn't work I'm going to have to unroot I think. :-(

it wont let me.. it literally FCs, then reboots itself. Its just crap. if you can provide links to some (in your opionion) excellent Roms, that would be good, except Leedroid, as I really don't like that either.
