OK, I've never had a great battery life since I got the Desire HD so I kept at it for a week or so hoping it would improve. Mine has had the OTA update from HTC. I thought I had the problem with Android system keeping a partial wakelock as identified over on xda forums so I ran through the backup, reset and restore procedure.
I unplugged it at 1.50am this morning with a full battery, did about 10 minutes of browsing in Firefox with 97% left at the end. Locked it and went to sleep, woke up at 9.30am and the phone was already off with 4% left.
On top of that because I thought I would save some battery by turning wifi off after 15 minutes when unplugged, it has used over 120MB of mobile data (on what I don't know as I had one e-mail recieved). Looking in the battery history in Spare Parts, HTC sense has used 109MB of network data since boot. Only problem is I can't tell on what! Up Time as I post this is roughly 12h 20m now, Awake time is 10h 43m. However the highest partial wake usage is Android system with 1m 6s.
Now as for sync settings as it must be something to do with this for HTC Sense to use so much data:
Facebook for HTC Sense - Only syncing contacts, schedule is 'Once a day'.
Google - Syncing Gmail and Calendar, can't find an option for schedule.
HTC Sense - Only update when opened, schedule is 'Once a day'. (HTCSense.com has never worked for me even when syncing HTC Sense and push are used)
News - Syncing BBC News, schedule is 'Every 4 hours'.
Weather - Syncing every hour for current location.
I prefer to use the stock Facebook application but I have chosen to sync my contacts through Facebook for HTC Sense so that birthdays etc. appear in the HTC Calendar widget. I have left Notifications 'Active' in the Facebook app but Refresh interval is set to 'Never' as I only want Push notifications (or refresh when I open the app).
Now when I looked in my Google sync I had an error stating that sync was not currently available for contacts so I unticked that.
Does anybody have any ideas? I'd like for my HTCSense.com to work but I doubt it will until HTC update it and probably the phone as it seems very broken right now. But the battery life is my biggest issue. It seems like a wakelock issue but now HTC Sense has used all this data in about 7 1/2 hours and killed the battery over HSPDA.
