Help Battery Draining Quickly

Ok, I now have carat and it has discovered a lot of running apps and core processors, but the only problem is that it wont allow me to close it down, so what should I do then?

Use greenify to hibernate them but tbh I don't ha e battery issues on my s5 have u got 4g running all the time or WiFi that will be a drain click settings WiFi and turn off things like search for available signals and other stuff, turn off things like svoice if you don't use it, turn location off and adjust its settings (you can access these long press these in the pull down), just go through all your settings and use some common on them ill soon figure it out...

Iv done them all but it is making no difference in the battery, I dont use 4G nor mobile data, battery is still draining too much, anymore useful tips?

I dont understand, I followed all the steps on the internet to save battery life on my ipad which battery does save on ipad but I follow the same steps for android and nothing happens and still drains quick. Strange, could my battery be faulty?, coz it goes down by 2% when I leave it on standby for only 5 minutes and I dont think that is normal

How come the battery does drain on ur galaxy s5 but drains too much on my galaxy s3???

That it too wierd and annoying!!!!!

Porbably just have a bad battery. Just buy a new one online. They go bad after awhile. You could also start a thread on the s3 forums.

Why do they go bad really quickly?
How does it happen so quick?
What was I suppose to do to help maintain the battery life and take care of it?

Did you charge it correctly overnight or for 24hours for its first ever charge when you got the device? If not that may have harmed the battery's performance.

Take it back/call your network and tell them itgot a fualty battery im sure thellreplace it or samsung will..

You could try calling samsung thier techs are pretty helpfull

I even have power saving mode on. But that too still doesnt save or make a difference to the battery. In fact to me it looks like its doing the opposite than saving it like its ment to

No because no one or nothing had told me to do that. I was told to charge it up to 100% but nothing about charge it over night.
What do I do with my battery, my friends have samsung galaxy and their battery lifes are fine but
My battery has a huge problem and I think there is some kind of fault on it

Yes I am going to order a new iphone 5s or 6 on christmas because im not happy with having a fast draining galaxy s3 and I dont think there is anything else I can do exept getting a new one

Lol except iPhone battery life is even worse, why not just get another S3 battery and charge it properly this time? 😃

If you're rooted you can use Greenify, excellent app for saving battery....

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oasisfeng.greenify&hl=en

I just noticed that it's available for non rooted phones now, but seems like there might be a few bugs involved.

If you're not rooted try a battery monitor app and see what is chewing through your battery, i use this 1 personally.....

Do a full charge and then when your battery is under 10% check the app and see what is using it up.

Things like having your GPS on constantly etc will use a lot of battery.

Contact your provider about a new battery too, UK carriers usually send you a new one free of charge, not a big deal, that might help.

Use towelroot to root install and tap the symbol but remember triangle away if your taking it back, it sounds like uve got a bad battery to me I'd swap it the s5 is a great phone all the s phones are and I've never had a battery issue with my s3 either..

Its1 of 3 things
Battery
Numpty with power draining apps open and running
Or a troll

Ya but android constantly consumes power even when the phone is off, and with the iphone its easy to turn apps off and doesnt run in the background, I used to have an iphone 3GS and the battery life was fine on there and didnt drain quickly, whereas with android, looks a bit complicated to turn off apps and saving battery on android, I had tried to save battery on my ipad by searching on internet how to save battery on ipad, and even downloaded a battery saving app, and it worked, the ipad then never drained any of the battery and only dropped by only 1% every 10 mins, but I still cannot solve the battery draining problem on the android

Im not going to root my galaxy s3 because I dont know how to do it and I may do something wrong that will cause a big error on the platform

They would be tight not to as you must be under warranty call Samsung first I'm guessing ur in USA so I don't know the number but it should be easy to find or chat via web, I'm sure they will send you a new one/give you a credit for a local store..

My S3 dropped 1% every 30mins and its 1% every hour or more on the S5 when idling. You keep saying android, but battery life is more dependent on the device and the battery itself, not just the operating system. iPhone 3/4/5 battery life sucks compared to the S5 or even the S3, period. There is something wrong with your battery, get a new one, they aren't expensive!
