Help Battery draining while charging and

My battery just drained to 0 while phone was in standby and charging. O just got it and haven't added any app yet.

I heard battery wasn't good but is this a common occurrence?

charging with wall charger and it showed that it was charging, correct?

I found the stock USB cable does not charge while connected to the computer, but worked well with the wall plug.

I had a friend give me a new cable that is at least twice as thick and it charges as good on the computer as it does in the wall, and as a bonus it is 6 ft. long so I leave it on my work computer and don't need to transport the charger every day.

So i guess the cable makes a difference, I had no Idea until I saw for myself.

The type of charger definitely makes a difference. I had an old Plantronics headset charger that would charge the phone. But only when the screen was off and it was in standby. Make sure you are using a real HTC charger.
