Help Battery Drains Fast

What's truly a shame is that Super Bowl Sundays isn't EVERY Sunday.
Football is life!
Life is football!

I received my Warp 2 days ago, loaded all my apps on it and watched my battery level quickly drain away. After reading these threads about battery life, etc. and how the searching for a cell signal can drain it I decided to put it on airplane mode while at home because I have no real signal here and the cell standby battery usage was like 79%. I also knew that all my apps running in the background were an issue so I stopped all the auto-syncing etc, and it's been sitting overnight for 11 hours and my battery right now is 73% so I'm thinking all that searching for cell signal might have been the culprit. I only use Wifi at my house and only turn it on when I'm actually using it, shut it off when I'm done. I'm still not sure of the usage while away from home, without airplane mode on, but at least I'm not having to charge it up in the middle of the day when it's just been sitting there. It's not a fix for the poor battery life but at least now I know what was eating the life out of it.

There is a glitch in gingerbread thats causes that app to use a ridiculous amount of battery in a very short time. Hopefully ice cream sandwich will have a fix.

After disabling background data and setting my cpu gov to ondemand my battery life has improved vastly. I didn't really have a problem with it before hand but I do notice a large difference.

EDIT: Two things I neglected to mention. One; I am also running the free version of Juice Defender. Two; I have it set on the default(Balanced) profile.

I seriously doubt if you'll see ICS on this device anytime soon.
