Battery fix from Evo board.....Check it out!!!

Battery, I have found, is more a function of awake time. What is your awake time? I don't care what is running.

Edit: But let me say I keep everything to on, always.

Shows up under Menu/Settings/AboutPhone/Battery/BatteryUse/CellStandby

Under use details but it wont the show time without signal heading unless you have had time without signal to log.

Mine says time without signal 0%, so I am assuming this is good? Thanks for your help!

I just tried this and mine was set to GSM auto (prl). After doing the switch I noticed I get 4 bars in my room (2 previous). I hope this helps out on the battery life.

Thanks for the info!!

So I just did this, and now my phone has zero bars and can't connect to the internet through the network. Anyone else get this problem? Am I gonna have to do a hard reset in order to fix this...cuz that would suck. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

UPDATE
So I held down the power button and then turned off my mobile network. After waiting a couple seconds, I turned it back on and then the 3G icon showed up at the top notification bar. It went back to GSM Auto and I think I will keep it that way for now. It would be nice to know if anyone else gets the same problem as I did.

I am only getting 7 hrs on a full charge:(

android system 45%

call standby 16%

wi-fi 15%

display 12%

phone idle 7%

android live wall paper 5%

any help for a newbie;)

That means 37% of your uptime has been without signal ie the device is searching for signal and that will tear through your battery in a quick hurry.
Thanks. You are very helpful! What should I do? I did the switch to CDMA, because I was set to GSM. Will that help? Why would the phone come that way?

Sorry I missed this post. more importantly is what is your uptime and awake times during those 7 hours and do you have time without signal?

Based on the info in this thread that should help you if you are suffering high times without signal. Question, do you have good signal where you live? Do you have other Verizon phones to compare the dBm to? The signal bars on the Incredible aren't a very good reference but you can look at the actual signal dBm in

menu/settings/aboutphone/network

It's only been a few hours since I have changed, but so far, I have seen a DRASTIC improvement in battery life. And no, I don't get a good signal at home. Thank you.

it wouldnt to my knowledge. I did this and there was no different and my settings were correct. I dont know why the settings for other people are different

I just tried this and I went back into the settings right away and it defalted back to GSM.

Either your numbers are weird or mine are...

My cell standby is 40%, phone idle is 28%, and Android system is only at 12%.

LOL no, that is not normal by any means. Mine is 37% and that's pretty high I would think.

LoL, yeah go Verizon....Must be becuase i am on an extended network when i am at home. Dont know why, Verizons extremely optimistic map has red all over the rural area i live in. I would be on 1X too, good thing i have WiFi.
