Help Battery from phone dropped in water ok to use?

So my son has the same phone as me and he dropped it in water and didn't tell anyone. He kept trying to get it to work without drying it out and I was just wondering if I could use the battery from his phone for mine. Would it be ok to use or could it damage my phone?

It might be ok, but I wouldn't use it.

Have you dried it out completely now? In a box of rice in a warm cupboard for a day or 2.

Yeah, you need to be absolutelty sure its dry. Even then I'd be a little hesitant if the phone you're putting it into was never dropped in water.

My phone has never been dropped in water thats why I was worried about doing this.
