Battery gets really hot?

I'm coming from a berry, so I'm not sure if this is normal for a droid/HTC. I have a battery widget installed that gives me the percent of charge a the temp. Right now I'm charging and the temp has gone up to 109F. Last night while I was not even using it (just picked it up and it was warm) it was 104F. Is that normal? I'm guessing not as my unit is not holding a charge well. TIA

I don't use a battery widget, but the Inc will get warm on the back if your using it a lot like wifi, phone, and surfing the net for an extended period. Not hot though to the touch.

Not normal at all. Even with heavy use my Incredible just gets a tad warm. When not using it - cool .. cold actually.

Ok, well it's back on the charger again (I'm having the battery issue like many others) and it's 112.8F. I have the VZW silicone case on and as much as I want to protect the phone I may take it off to let the heat disapate a bit better. I can't say that it's actually 'hot' but at 112 it's a bit warm (considering most peoples hot water is 120F). I'm really just worried that it will literally cook itself.

Mine never gets hot, maybe warm during heavy use, but stays cool even when being charged?

Mine gets really hot too, especially when running a game or charging. I heard that when batteries overheat they kill themselves faster.

A) how do you get to task manager (I know I saw it but now I can't find it)

B) Under running services the things that seem odd are:

- GTalkService (I don't use gtalk)

I thought it was only me. yesterday when I first got the phone I was looking for something on the net then all of a sudden I just felt the back heat up in an instant it got very hot indeed.

You can find plenty in the market app just type in task manager

When I had a Eris, I found the Task Killers burned up more battery ten they are worth. My DI battery is barely warm even during heavy usage. If it's @ 112 degrees, you need to go to VZW and replace the battery IMO.

SIGH this is simply a case of people not knowing what is hot or what is not. No the battery does not run hot it is perfectly normal. No, your battery is not different. There is nothing wrong.

End of thread.

@5thElement, I have not had a HTC device in about 4 years (I've had a berry for the last couple of years). I was simply asking if this was the normal behavior for this kind of device. I would normally keep my berry (and now my DI) in my front pocket. I never noticed the berry getting warm and I definitely notice the DI.
