Battery Help

I have been having a lot of trouble with battery life and this phone. The standard battery was not lasting so I purchased an extended. Even with the extended, if I do any web surfing or streaming of audio I will not last two hours. I do not have GPS, bluetooth, wifi turned on. For the most part 4G is disabled. Emails are syncing every hour and brightness is set to manual mode (nearly all the way down). I am not sure what else I can be doing. The only widgets I have are Beautiful Widgets, Accurate Battery and a calendar widget. I tried Advanced Task Killer and it did not help. Using the task manager that came with the phone now and no change. JuiceDefender is installed and will help my phone last all day if i do not touch the web. However once I do anything on the internet (3G) mode, this phone will soon be dead.

Any advice? Does it sound like maybe there is an issue with the phone?

Im having the same problems that you are. Now I just bring both batterys with me where ever I go. I just hope the update fix some of the battery issues.

Did you both check out ... http://androidforums.com/motorola-droid-bionic/434181-bionic-battery-life-video-series.html ... in this forum?

I think it is human to think always that there is one problem. In this case I suggest more than one. If it was me I would take the extended battery back and get it replaced. (I can not prove it but I think there are a bunch of bad extended batteries kicking around.)

How long does the normal battery last?

Even though i had already done most of what was there, I watched the series. The normal battery was a little less than the extended. So that was terrible also. I am not expecting a battery to last me all day while surfing the internet. But 2 hours at most is ridiculous.

Two batteries ... same problem ... they did have one thing in common ... your Bionic.

If it was me ... I would not be punching keys in this forum ... I would be in my car on the way to the sotre and get it replaced.

Tell them all the steps you took and ask them to solve it.

Good luck.

I've never browsed for 2 hours straight on my phone, but 2 hours seems really low. I'm going to have to agree that it's likely a defective Bionic, or a rogue app. I would get OS monitor and see whats running in the background, and avoid task killers like the plague unless you are using it to kill a rogue app.
