Alright. This morning my battery was at 100% but died when I was at work. I plugged it in and it went back to 100% almost instantly. But then when I took it off the charger I receiver a few emails, a missed call and voice mail and it had died again.. all within about 40 minutes. Any idea of what this could mean?

Most likely it's a defective battery. You have a 1 year warranty on your battery that your carrier should honor. Get it checked at a repair store and make sure to bring your charger with as well.
