Help Battery issues with new S2

Good morning all,

I got my i727 on Wednesday (2.3.5, coming from an iPhone) and I am almost evangelical about how great it is.

So I understand that 2.3.6 kills the battery, but I am having some trouble on 2.3.5. I would like to keep the phone, but I need to figure out what to do in the next 26 days or I will need to return it; sadly I am old with kids and run my own business now and don't have the time to try several different ROMs, etc. So if you guys could suggest what you think is the right way to go...

Sometimes things seem OK; Thursday the phone lasted all day and I was streaming podcasts to it over 4G for several hours. The battery got low at night and I plugged it in to the wall next to my bed, where there is not a horribly good wifi signal (but there is one). It never got past 1%. I played with it in the morning and moved it to charge from my main PC next to the wifi router and it charged up fairly quickly.

Coincidentally, I installed a wifi extender yesterday and did the same thing, now with good signal about 10 feet away from the phone. Same deal- plugged into the wall for hours it never got past 1%. Eventually I cleared all the apps in Task Manager and it started charging.

This morning I'm up for < 30 minutes and it's dropped 5% (on WiFi).

So I am guessing that it's the WiFi issues? Even on 2.3.5?

Also, last night (while I was still out) I toggled the GPS off and killed all apps, but the GPS indicator was constantly blinking and it drained the batt in <2 hours. Any idea what did that, overrode my GPS off?

Blah Blah Blah. I can figure out how to do whatever flashes are necessary, but links to good sources and procedures would be appreciated. I really, REALLY like Android now (I tried it about a year ago and was unimpressed) and I don't want to go back to bitching about how shitty my iPhone is.

Thanks!

You need to go back to 2.3.4 and if you look into how to Root your phone, in All Things Root at the top of this page, and look into One touch, and how to go back to 2.3.4 without setting off your flash counter, you should be good.

I think you're on the wrong forum, the i727 is the Skyrocket version of the Galaxy S2. Try to get this moved over there, they will be able to help you with your problem better than us i777 folks.
