Help Battery Issues

For months my battery has been functioning just fine, getting 13-15 hours in a day with medium usage. These past few days I've been lucky to get 7 hours with really light usage. I purchased a new battery from Amazon a few days ago and I get almost the same amount of life (unpluggin at 7 am and dying around 2 pm). I've checked the battery usage screen in the settings and there doesn't seem to be any apps draining the battery significantly. Is this a battery problem or a phone problem?

Did you drain it completely and fully recharge it for a few cycles?
Did you triple check what apps are running in the background?
Are you using the same energy saving settings?
Are you using the same screen wallpaper?
Are you using bluetooth, GPS and WiFi all the time?
Are any apps updating themselves or checking accounts every few minutes?
From my experience, the Vibrant is a power hog that needs a bigger capacity battery than the stock.

I've tried killing almost all the options to save the battery, but then I ended up dumbing down everything we bought the phone for.

I've said this before: I believe it's a flawed platform with the original battery that can often deliver less than 6 hours of portable use between charges.

Wow, I rooted and installed a custom rom and my battery life is better than ever. My phone's been unplugged for almost 13 hours and I'm at 30%.

My extended battery is 3500 mAh. It lasts me 16 hours of heavy usage. Typically 4 hours on phone and internet browsing, texting, emailing.
