Battery Life Abnormally Horrible

That's weird, and I read that you said syncing was causing it. I get about 14 hours, and all my syncing is turned on. That's why I think it's a rouge app, or bad battery. Good luck man, hope your new phone is better. ;)

Syncing certain things which I'm no longer syncing and now I'm enjoying normal battery life. The problem is all the shit LG has thrown on top of Android. I don't use any unpopular apps nor do I pirate apps.

Reddit Now may be unpopular but it's of zero concern I've had all these apps on my Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 with no issues at all. Save your self time if your rooting and timing just get a Nexus and enjoy the latest with the least bugs from Google

My battery life is great as long as I have a good signal. When I'm in my office where the signal is poor to none, the battery life absolutely crashes. But when I'm out and about, I can easily get a days worth of battery w/out charging with light to medium data use.

See about getting a new battery for it from someone like Ontrion or just return it and get the LG Spirit, it's the same phone with a much better screen. edit: i had the same problem with mine when I first got it and an ontrion battery seems to have fixed it. Now I can pull it off the charger, throw it in my pocket, and not worry about it until around dinnertime regardless of how I use it.

Dude you guys are just trolling now.

PROBLEM IS SOLVED (it'd be nice if a mod just locked this thread)

How was he "trolling"? He seems to be trying to help? As was everyone else. ;) Not too many people complain about the battery,(I have never had bad life out of my battery, but could always use more juice lol) so... as an assumption, it only makes sense to think its the battery its self (Or rouge app, but I think you narrowed it down to that not being the problem). You may have solved it by turning syncing off, but to me... that's no solution. It maybe a work around for you, but if you could get a new battery from LG because its under warranty, and I'm just assuming that, I would go that route. ;) Either or, batteries lose their charges, and don't hold charges. Just seems like a legit assumption tbh.
:) I guess we should just leave this be, but everyone was concerned, and just wanted to help. Hey, this could happen to one of us one day, and could possibly help one of our fellow Motion owners. If you do get a new battery, let us know if that solves your problem. ;)

Juice Defender would be your best friend. With JD you could leave the apps that hog battery on and they wont impact much because JD will keep them from syncing all the time. That with a couple of build.prop tweaks and using an app that has profiles for CPU speed (Rom Toolbox Pro is my favorite, make one for screen on with normal cpu speeds and either the performance governor or the ondemand governor and one for screen off with a min of like 350 and max of 600-800 with powersave governor)

With this, right now Im at 80% battery on 14 hours of standby time (which would be about 72 hours of standby time total). Doing these to my Connect when I had it (which is widely regarded as having some of the worst battery life around), I could almost get 72 hours (when most people were lucky to get 6-12).

One more thing, Swype is a HUGE drain. Before I debloated my Motion (but after I had done all the mods here), Swype was doing over 50% of the drain on my battery. If you dont use Swype, then simply uninstall it, if you DO use it, then theres plenty of threads around for getting the new BETA version which reportedly uses FAR less battery.

When I'm in my office where the signal is poor to none, the battery life absolutely crashes.

Some people might not be aware that when a phone can't get a signal it goes full strength and looks for one.

I found this out when I had AT&T many years ago.

Even thought the phone sat in the same place all night every once in a while the battery would be almost gone by morning and this was with a dumb phone that would last for many days most of the time.
The signal strength would drop for some reason.

I got much better battery life on my Optimus M. I averaged 11-13 hours a day; I'm lucky to get half that on my Motion with identical use patterns.
