Root Battery (Life and Charging) SUCKS On ANY 2.2 ROM

Now, the charging time is still quite long but the battery life is amazing! I went all day at work 7:45 until 7:30 tonight and have 79 percent battery left with moderate phone and data usage. ..

Very nice. I just checked and with a bumped 1500 got 10 hours uptime with 1 something hours awake... 65% left. Not bad since I was using the actual phone today a lot. That tends to kill everything in every phone I've ever had. The needed thing is to bump that battery either with an external or turning it off for 1/2 hour in the morning.

Please help, my battery sucks bigtime as well! Here are my stats:
Battery left: <10%
Up time: 12:14
Awake time: 4:52
Cell Standby: 34%
Phone Idle: 23%
Wi-Fi: 22%
Android system: 9%
Voice calls 9%
Display: 3%

I am running radio 2.15, Adrynalyne 3rd Wave, KingXKernel #2 and using Seidio 1750 battery. I really do not use my phone that much, for sure less than what the awake time is saying (4:52h). Most of my sync settings are set to 2hr intervals. Here is a big kicker though, I get terrible service at my clinic so my time without a signal is almost 50%. Because of this, I turn off 3G and keep wi-fi on. Will this still kill my battery by not having service even if 3G is off? I have setCPU set to CONSERVATIVE and have a screen off profile set between 245-384mhz. Battery life has never been very good on my phone but it is much worse since moving to Froyo.

I'm not so sure that your 50% without signal problem is neccesarily due to your terrible service. The 2.15 radio was causing this problem for me.
But coming from an Eris I am familiar with this problem and the temporary fix. Plug your phone into charger, turn on airplane mode and let phone sit until screen goes to sleep, wake phone and turn off airplane mode, unplug charger and no more time without signal until reboot! When this was happening to me I most definitley saw decreased battery life. Seems not everyone on 2.15 radio is having this problem? I opted to revert back to 2.05 to avoid this problem and due to lack of improvements.

With FrankenROM B6, KingX #3 kernel, 2.15 Radio: I just charged my phone from shut down all the way back to %100 while running and it took 1 hour and 40 minutes to fully charge the Siedio "1750" battery. I really don't think that is too bad. Overall I'm a happy puppy.

Thanks I will give this a shot. Also is it difficult to install 2.05 if i already have 2.15 installed? I have s-off and went straight from1.x to 2.15 if that matters. I would prefer not to wipe my phone if i dont have to....

I was using King#2 yesterday with SkyRaider 2.5.2 and I had, by FAR, the worst battery performance I've had so far. I switched to Hydra SSUV and set up SetCPU profiles to mirror ChiTownJim's yesterday.

I just noticed that my up time is 2:46:35 and my awake time is 2:11:44. It looks like the Genie widget has used almost 2 hours of partial wake. Peace out, Genie. We'll see if that helps. I did not have anything chewing up partial wake yesterday, though.

Same thing here, AND I saw the crazy charging times as well. I switched to Frankenrom_B6 yesterday - am curious to hear about your results with King#3 - as King#2 was destroying my battery

I'm using stock kernal, 2.15 radio, Skyraider 2.5.2 and I've gotten the longest life so far. You gotta charge the phone while its on, wait for green light, unplug, turn phone off, plug it back it, wait for orange to turn green, unplug/replug again. I got an hour steady @100% today and about 12 hours total on the day. I know that's not ideal but it's the best so far and I'm not gonna complain.

I have Skyraider 2.52 Sense and 2.15 radio, but have the kernel that came with Skyraider. Battery seems just as good, if not better than than with 2.1. Some kernels do not play nice with battery power and the combination involves kernel, radio and OS.

The stock battery was weak anyways. I have the 1750 and 3500 Seidio batteries.

It's worth pointing out that some apps kill battery on FroYo that might not have on Eclair.

For example, ADW was always running at 100% I discovered. So I'm trying out LauncherPro again and according to Android System Info it's hardly using ANYTHING.

Given that FroYo is more powerful than Eclair, it stands to reason that you'd be pulling more battery when apps are using all of that CPU strength.

I have skyraider with stock kernal and 1500 battery. I highly recommend the 1500 battery from ebay. Also a huge difference maker is bump charging. I unplugged a few times with phone off and plugged back in and it took a little while each time to go green. Then I did a wipe battery stats from recovery. I played with it for an hour in bed(the phone I mean ) and left off the charger all last night currently I am at 80 something percent with almost 10 hours uptime and 1 hour 30 minutes awake time.

How did you find out ADW was always running at 100%? I looked at what is using the battery and no apps showed up (I guess that is normal) as well as running applications and ADW wasn't even listed. Is there another menu to find out this information? Thanks!

Yeah it sucks on any rom that has 2.2 the phone should never take 5 to 6 hours to charge. Sky raider.. cyanogen.. they all do the same thing.
FYI I already have the 1750 extended it still takes forever to charge.

Only thing I dislike about 2.2 is the long ass charge times, it's insane . Maybe the new OTA leak will have this addressed. I wonder if other phones with 2.2 especially ones that have a non leaked one liek the N1 and D2 have that same issue
