Help Battery life diminished since new

Hi all

Just got my Sony Xperia Z about 2-3 weeks ago and loving it.

But as of late, the battery won't last from when I get up to when I get back to bed
With Stamina Mode I used to get over 4 days Estimated Battery Life and about 3 days without Stamina mode!

All started up on one day and hasn't gotten better, have done a full drain and re-charge aswell, closed all apps and brightness set to Auto.
Have also tried hard-reset to no avail either.

Have had over 20+ full recharges and again, no better

Anyone else experience this or have any fixes for this?

Some screenshots I took the other day

A screenshot of the Battery Usage screen would be helpful, but if the performance took a sudden nosedive (with no change in your usage pattern) then I'd be tempted to return it to the retailer as potentially faulty.

I have also noticed after about 3 weeks use that the battery performance has diminished although not drastically in my case, even with stamina mode on all the time, but I did get some notifications that certain apps are trying to function whilst stamina mode is on and I have not deleted or force stopped those apps so I'm assuming that the more apps I install, the greater number of apps trying to function and therefore sucking the battery life.

Got a new phone from Vodafone (in NZ) and they transfered over everything.

As usual they gave me the whole "this is the first we have heard of this" issue.

Good on them for just giving me a brand new unit but this one is now even worse.

Bought the new phone home, and had it on an overnight charge for over 14 hours and this is how it is now:

These images were taken right after the phone was taken off charge (18 seconds after!)

Seems the new phone is even worse than the original :(
Screen brightness is set to auto and approx 1/3 from the lowest

It depends how much you use the phone the day before. If you almost didn't use it, it can show you for example 4 days. If you watched two movies and almost drained the battery, it can show you the 10 hours.
The battery is kinda crappy for the screen size but you can easily last a day with normal usage.
My XZ can get around 4-5 hours of screen time but I don't normally use it so much so it always lasts one day.

Btw. a screenshot of battery usage right after you take it off the charger is useless.

I've had my Z for 7 days. The first 4 days the battery would last from 12am until about 7pm the next day and then I would still have 23% or so power left. However, the last 3 days its dead by 2pm. Nothing changed or added on the phone. Not happy. Worst phone I have had for battery life.

I'm not too satisfied with the battery life too, but in LTE mobile browsing wise, it is awesome. One hour of browsing will only take 15% battery, while 3G uses about 10%. Even the very power-conserving iPhone 5 uses 20% per hour on 4g and about 10% on 3g. S III scores similar. Of course, the beast screen is to 'blame' for this issue. 441 ppi is a lot pixels to punch, and more CPU power is required. So the 4G power useage per hour is very satisfying. Gaming (heavy 3D but not requiring internet)is about 20% per hour usage. If you disable mobile data while on standby you can achieve 1% per hour use. STAMINA mode doesn't work really well if you chose any apps to keep the mobile data on. Whatsapp requires internet to receive texts, so STAMINA cannot keep the 3/4g off. If you are having issues with STAMINA mode, try not to keep any apps on. Having mobile data off during lessons will not only help save battery, but also prevent sudden text rings and making your teacher angry. Hope this helps ;)

The whole point of Stamina Mode is not to keep mobile data off, it's to reduce background data usage and/or power draw while still allowing chosen apps to connect.

I know and agree with you, but my point is you will increase the background data and reduce battery life if you have many apps on.
