Help Battery life - is it really this poor?

... or is there something up with my phone?

Been off the charger a little under two hours now and it's down to 75% (had this thing less than a week now). Used only intermittently. Screen brightness set at about 40%, timeout at 30s, Display still shows a about 61% of the usage; WiFi, Android System and Dialer are next at 6% (Dialer? Really? I haven't even made any calls or gone into the Dialer at all).
 
The battery isn't great, but that is bad. With some tweaking, I've been able to get over days off a single charge.

What are your sync settings? What Android version are you? In the Advanced WiFi Menu, is WiFi best performance checked?
 
Best performance was NOT checked... I did enable the WiFi sleep ("never when plugged in").

Hmm, I thought I'd turned off the "Background data" option but that's on now... what other sync settings should I be looking at?
 
Dialer represents various tasks and sensors and isn't just related to the keypad you dial numbers on. What does you wake on bar look like if you tap the battery graph at the top of the usage screen?
 
Also try turning off "mobile data always on", having a static backgroud and setting your update pushes to the longest time possible. I've recently been getting about 2.75 days before I hit 15%. I've also read that it takes the battery about a month or so to become full capacity, so it should improve with time as well.
 
Thanks, guys... I tend to be skeptical of most "tweak" apps, but I decided to try JuiceDefender, and wow, BIG difference, even with its default settings.
 
My battery life is not good either-yesterday was 6 hours (minimum use) and today was 8 hours (no use-just sat on the coffee table).

I've tried turning everything off that I can, doing the tweaks on the forums, and I really try not to use the phone at all which is really not the whole purpose of having it in the first place.

Never had a problem with my Droid Bionic battery life.

Suggestions?
