Help Battery life question

Hey everyone. I am about to order the Rezound but I need to know about battery life. I listen to podcasts (downloaded to sd card not streamed) all day while at work. Will this phone make it 8 hours screen off listening to music with a phone call or 2 mixed in there? Any input would be appreciated.

I've had mine a week now and have given up on the std battery and gone with the monsterous extended.

Even with every power saver feature I could find and turning everything possible off it won't go more than 12 hours on the std battery.

My 12 hours is typically 50% battery with some usage here and there, performance mode, 4G LTE full-time, 4 email accounts polling every 15 minutes (i changed push to poll on my exchange account), and this is with the standard battery. Sometimes I have 60% left when i don't toy with the phone much.

I don't have the battery data for playing music non-stop but what i remember is it's really not much with the screen off. The screen uses a lot of power. My screen/brightness setting is usually at #1 of 3 with that HTC widget-thing.

I do see a steep -10% drop every hour with the hotspot enabled (my hotspot worked fine 5 hours in a row last Saturday and 4 hours in a row yesterday; no lock-up/disconnect/etc when i had it enabled and was using it here and there).

Sometimes when i really toy with the phone I can run down the entire battery in a few hours.:D

bye.

Battery life is decent on the Rezound for a smart phone.

On everything stock, I was able to get 12 hours of moderate use out of it with 4G off, using only 3G or wifi. 4G is a huge drain. Listening to podcasts with the screen off should give you good battery life. The screen is also a huge drain too, considering it is pushing HD number of pixels. Battery life is even better if you uncheck the "Always Mobile Data On" option. Also, if you are on the go and manually turn on Mobile Data only when you need it, you can get very good battery life out of it.

What I like about this phone is that the battery life can be managed. How long it lasts will depend on how you use it. When your battery gets low, just turn off mobile data and lower the screen brightness, and that will get you through the rest of your day.

Rooted, I was able to get even better battery life. Almost on par with iphone 4. Currently, I recommend CleanROM 1.5 from Scottsroms. I've been getting very good standby times and decent screen on times with this rom. Battery only drops 1 or 2% per hour in standby.

From what I've read on this forum and others is that if you have a strong signal your battery tends to last longer. Mine drops 20-30 percent after 9-10 hours at work with light use but once I get home my battery drops like a rock because (IMO) I'm on the fringe of a 4g signal and a 3g so it's constantly jumping back and forth between the two. If I go with wifi the battery does much better. Going with the economy setting rather than performance setting makes a big difference too.

I haven't gotten it yet but I just order it yesterday so I'll report back when I get them.

I have other after markets and while the phone has en error mark they still work.

That's true, and I kept the Anker's as an emergency backup, but they aren't practical for daily use, for me. It'd be like driving a car with an empty gas gauge. But at least a car is fairly predictable in terms of how many miles you get to a tank. With the Rezound, the batt can last 16+ hrs with light use or 5hrs with heavy use!
