Battery Life?

Download JuiceDefender from market and install it. The battery stands for 2 days minimum...you can have all you internet, 2g, 3g, sync, facebook, gtalk, gmail enabled. JuiceDefender will take care!

I don't like it personally. I find it more of a hinderance than a useful solution.
 
I find the battery on the Wildfire far better than that on the Desire, I do not charge it nearly as often, and I do pretty much the same things Google Navigation, Internet Radio, Phone Calls etc etc

It will be. Its a smaller screen with a lower resolution and the CPU is running at almost half the speed. All of which is lower power consumption.
 
heey can u plz help me increase my HTC wildfires batt life? Wen i go on settings>about phone>battery>battery usage ----> it shows me that phone on idle is using 38% of the battery and phone on standby uses 36% :S i reliii dont understand why this is happening ? :( plzzz helpp! Wudd appreaciate thnks!
 
thnks for da response. My battery lasts for about 1 day i think, but if i use more apps and download stuff denn it goes down to probly 20 hours :/ and i was shocked to seee my battery being used even when the phone is idle :( do u know why tht is the case mate? Thnks !

If you use your car more, it uses more fuel. Same with phones.

Bear in mind that your phone is a two way walkie talkie radio. If its connecting to the internet then it is transmitting radio signals and that takes power.

yeah ur ritee mate but wen my fone is on idle and standby its not using internet, but still takes so much battery :(
 
Your phone is constantly "talking" to your network. Its polling the network to check signal. This is how your phone manages to display signal strength. This is pretty much constant.

If you leave your movile data network connected, this adds to this power loss. Also, if you are in a low HSDPA or 3G area, and your phone is constantly changing between bands, it can be a drain.

Any battery powered device loses battery power if it is on. Phones more so, because even when they appear to be doing nothing, they're not.

Plus its a smart phone. The battery won't last a week like a cheap nokia.

To save battery, you should change sync / update intervals to bigger gaps. All your syncing that happens in the background also takes up power.

Heeey thanks dude! i changed my sync settings and turned off da background synching, but can u tell me how to change sync intervals to bigger gaps? Cheers!

Well it depends on what you're syncing.

For example, if you're using the HTC mail app, you can change the refresh interval from settings within mail.

Same with facebook and HTC weather.


Background syncing turns off all sync, so that might not be what you want to do. This will affect your email possibly.

I've had mine for a week and only charged it 3 times!! The battery life on mine is great. I play games, check weather, use it for messaging and calling lots and it checks my Gmail account too. No complaints about battery life from me.
 
Has anyone tried the 1700mah Andida battery? Someone on fleabay selling and wondered if it was any better than OEM.
 
the battery works fine for the first 2 weeks, can last at least 40 hours, with mobile network ON all the time.

However, after 3 weeks, the battery getting worse.
The battery went down 20% even i leave it there without using it.

i never turn on bluetooth, wi fi or GPS unless i need to use them.

i am thinking of getting 2 extra battery from ebay which costs only $10 US!!~~
 
well its been two days since i have got my wildfire and kinda knew what to expect abt the battery life.

i just manage to get a half a day life with a full charge. i have been downloading and playing with apps all day long so my phone is not on rest untill know. i do turn my wi-fi off when not in use.

hopefully should get a day when my usage reduces.

also charging the phone takes almost two hours-comment?
 
i guess the battery of mine is half dead after 2 months....

guess i did not charge it properly.

anyone using a car charger? and does it do damage to the battery?
 
I got a new Wildfire on 1st November - I shall be returning it next week as the battery is appalling. I charged it as described, then followed all the instructions. I now need to charge it during the day or it dies on me.

I can't believe that such a new phone can be this bad. Since I signed a 24 month contract (don't forget in the UK there is a 14 day cooling-off period) I would hate to think how bad the battery would be with a few months use.

This was my second HTC after having a windows version about 3 years ago which I hated. I thought I'd give them another go, but no more.
 
Yeah if you dont change the settings from default (Sync everything as often as possible) then you will find the battery bad.

Plus it has a huge touch screen.

It's not HTC's fault about the battery life. It is a limitation of battery technology. Big screen smart phone etc,.

Of course it is their fault everything is set to ON in big red flashing letters out-of-the-box and not telling you about it though.
 
Guys, try disabling the auto-retrieve option under the MMS settings & if you can kill the stock message app after you send the messages. This really saved my battery life as i found this thing to be the culprit which prevented in going my mobile to sleep & consuming battery. Try it & let me know the feedbk.

P.S: I came to knw abt this only aftr i started wondering about my battery life going low even aftr disabling auto sync, wifi, bluetooth, putting to phone gsm etc.
 
discharged the battery so wen u try and turn the phone off the LED jsut flashes and wont urn on then charge it for at least 12 hours.
it should last at least 2 days mine does with wifi on most of the time ( rarely use network )
if try charging when you can if its not too much hassle. you could also get a higher mah battery from somewhere but like any new battery will take a while for it to get used to discharge and charge making it for efficient.
 
Hello there fellow android users

I spoke to a specialist about the battery life in my HTC Wildfire.

I charged my phone to 100% yesterday, unplugged it around 16:00 and when I woke up this morning at 10:45 the battery had gone down by 68% in example the percentage was 32% left of battery life.

I confronted this specialist about this issue and he told me that it is assumed that people charge their phones daily, specially the Android phones, but he also told me various ways to extend battery life, such as disabling 3G network but keeping the WiFi network available, the battery usage when 3G is enabled and the WiFi disabled is far more power consuming..

He also told me to get an app killer, that can kill all unwanted apps running in the background, cause of these apps updated every once in a while and that was power consuming also..

I've yet to find a suitable appkiller and I'm testing it today to have the WiFi enabled and the 3G network option disabled.

I will report tomorrow how the battery life is after 24 hours of average use.
