Help Battery life?

My first 2 charges were lasting around 6 hours but that's because I was messing with the phone, getting used to it.

I charged it up to 100% last night to see how much battery standby takes. I had Mobile Internet on (I keep it on all the time) and it got the battery down to 91%. Not too happy with that but since then it's dropped to 69% with moderate use which is pretty good.

So as of now, including the standby time, it's been on for 15 hours and 30 minutes since the charge and it's only dropped down to 69% so that's more than reasonable for my standards.

EDIT: Sorry, that's false information. Turns out I didn't refresh the app for the time.
So here's the real statistics : Currently the battery level is at 65% and the phone has been off charge for 19 hours and 28 minutes, and that includes the standby time.

That's even better.

Mine has done 1 day 6 hours now down to 20% not too bad it has been used for phone internet email with updates hourly for Twitter and Facebook.

Charged Thursday noon, was <10% on Sunday evening. 3 days

More than just basic use, taking photos, internet, email.

Mine seems to be on about 40% at the end of most days of moderate use. I'm quite happy to charge each night if needed. The only thing that has got it to 15% by mid evening is a few hours on a chat application with the screen brightness on max - to be expected! Overall lasts about 25% better than my Legend used to.

I fully top it up when I get home in the evening around 7, then surf a little, a youtube or two or a little Iplayer plus facebook and maybe a little surfing. put it on airplane mode when I go to bed, then the next day do a little surfing and emails plus a couple of calls during the day. On the way home, maybe a game or two and then back on the charger. By then it's still 30%, Apart from several running apps I always have GPRS and WIFI on. So all in all I'm quite happy with battery life.

Not had my Desire S long, such a massive improvement compared to my tired Hero. Just a tip on battery life, there are a couple of apps that I used when I had my hero and that work just as well on the Desire S. Timeout3g turns mobile internet off when the phone sleeps, but you can set it to come on periodically to check for email etc. On a day when I don't use the phone much, for whatever reason, I often have nearly full battery left towards the end of the day. Really makes a difference. Also there is Y5 battery saver. This turns wifi off when it doesnt detect a network that you've previously connected to. I'm always leaving my wifi on by mistake which can drain my battery. Hope this helps

how are you all reading the percentages? Its not a native option somehwhere is it? I know there are apps in the store to do this but was wondering if theres a native option ive missed.

Theres a battery widgets on the widget menu :) My Desire S battery is great! :D it was on 96% when i woke, and i listened to musiic via earphones for about 3hrs, played about 20mins of Angry Birds, even activated the mobile network about half an hour.. Went on facebook during that time on mobile network, and came home for about 1hr wifi usage and between all that a good bit of texting. Now its on 44%. I always keep wifi etc off when not in use. Battery is brilliant imo
