Root Battery Life

Hello,
The rooted Nooks are working well except we've been getting less than ideal battery life with simple use. I have read many articles/threads on supposed apps and setting that can improve battery life but along with those are posts saying they don't work. Bottom line, what does work on a rooted nook to improve battery life. Settings, apps, anything? I appreciate any advice.

What rom (cm9? cm7? something else?)

Best thing you can do is turn down your brightness and turn off wifi when not being used.

Older versions of CM7 had the airplane bug where if you turned on airplane mode your wifi would be off every time you rebooted.
