Help Battery life?

My battery life VASTLY improved following the update. I am not walking around with the charger in my pocket anymore.
I haven't timed the full life of the charge but it must be around 50% more juice. I suspect my habits have changed though, like I often hit multi-task & end running apps etc.
One more thing, the overheat has gone. Totally. How? No idea, but it is great. :)

I fell out of love with my phone, I love it to bits now.

Try putting the phone into aeroplane mode (which basically shuts down the data connection and phone signal) and see if you still get poor battery life.

If you do I'd suggest downloading BetterBatteryStats from the Play Store and see if anything is draining your battery.

If it doesn't show any app as being the culprit then I'd say the battery looks faulty.
I'd reiterate what gibbs says here about BetterBatteryStats. I got rid of my DHD becuase the battery life was shocking, When I moved to the One X I was suffering the same. After using the app I found the culprit and removed it and have seen a massive improvement. If I'd had this app on my DHD I may not have been so frustrated by battery on that. P.S. look at "Process/Since Unplugged" or set a custom reference point to see a league table of the most battery-hungry apps that you are using.

Well I hope someone can help me here. I have looked at all the posted images of the battery stats within these threads and no ones Cell Standby goes over 30% yet everyday I'm only getting around 12-13hrs battery usage with Cell Standby using 70-80%. Any ideas?

Do you live in a poor signal area?

Cell Standby generally relates to how much battery the phone uses trying to get a decent signal. If you have a poor signal, that will always be quite high.

Thanks El Presidente that would explain it. For the last 2 weeks I have been in a virtually no signal area, I didn't even think about that. :D

yup, just to reiterate what El Presidente said. I get about 2x worse battery life when i'm at less than 3 bars, which is unfortunately most of the time (and since it's less than 3 bars on LTE towers, it's a double-hit)

Try switching to GSM only. I live in a poor signal area too, so when I'm at home, I have to switch to 2G only or my battery life is rubbish.

there is an app called easy battery saver on the play store.. It did wonders to phones battery life.. If used minimally, i can make it last for 1.5 days without charging.. Earlier, every night i would have to charge it..

not really related, but do you know if it is possible to turn LTE off on the AT&T branded variants of the One X? My friend, who has a iPhone 4S gets 4-5 bars of 3G (HSPA+ i am assuming) and yet my phone insists on sticking to the 2 bars of LTE it can get in my room (trashing battery life in the process)

Not sure about stock, but there are 3rd Party Widgets that can do it: 4G Toggle.

Are they any use?

100% to 91% in just 15-20 mins ........
Is it normal??

I have purchased it 15 days back.......and not getting proper battery .....
Even if wi-fi, bluetooth ,gps are off and use data connection for around 20-25 mins.....the battery is drained fully after 9 hrs ..........:o

I didn't charged it fully before i started using fr 1st time....:(

That really depends on what you are doing with the phone. If you're watching flash videos, then it makes perfect sense. If the phone is sitting idle, that sounds like a lot of battery drain unless you have very poor service wherever you are.

Charging it fully vs not when you use it the first time doesn't matter with li-ion batteries.

However, if you're using the phone constantly, 9 hours sounds really good. My battery will die in 5-6 if I am constantly using it, pulling down data.

Actually i used data connection and browsed for 15 mins.......

And i am not using the phone constantly fr 9 hrs.....the screen time is just appx 50 mins....

In that case I would suggest you download a program like GSAM battery monitor (it's in the play store, I would link but I'm on my phone) and that way when you are experiencing battery drain you can open the program and see what is causing it.
