Hi, I've been having issues with my cellphone, a GT-I9300 since I upgraded the OS to 4.3, for some reason the battery meter is not working properly, let me explain myself
I started having an issue when, even when my meter shows there is still energy remaining, the battery has been already depleted, as a consequence the phone does not turn off normally, instead it keeps working until there is no more energy to continue working so the screen starts flashing (the same way a fluorescent light does right before it dies), the phone gets frozen and then the screen turns off, in other words since the phone does not know it must turn off then it does not turn off; once I connect the charger the charging screen comes up and then disappears a few times until the phone gets enough charge to continue charging normally.
Now, I have tried everything to fix the issue, from all the methods used with unrooted phones to the ones used on rooted phones (I rooted my phone just to be able to fix it), I tried with battery calibration an other applications, none of them manages to keep the phone working properly, I tried using *#0228# as well but even when it helps the phone to display the right battery level for some time after a few hours the same behaviour comes back, not to mention the battery life gets diminished.
I even considered wiping the battery stats from the Recovery Mode so I was considering to install some of the custom CWM Recovery versions, that until I found the wipe battery stats option was removed since it was found it was useless, so at this point what I got is a battery meter issue on an S3 rooted but still using the original ROM that I can't fix, any suggestions?
