Help Battery Meter / Widget?

Ok, am I missing something or is there no battery widget with sense 3.5? (I thought HTC had a battery widget bundled with sense).

For that matter, is there any place at all where you can see an actual % number of your battery life? I can't seem to find a good place to get actual numbers...

Thanks in advance... hope I'm missing something obvious here (though I suspect my best bet is to just get a widget from the marketplace).

Battery left widget is something I've always used when not rooted. Using it right now as well.

Having used a number of battery monitor tools on several of my handsets, the drain is negligible (virtually non existent in fact).

I agree...I have just always been a person who has set my phone up to optimize everything to the best of its ability. Although the widget running is not a huge battery drain the overall take away through out the day can become a little more due to the fact that not only is the widget running, but it also consumes more CPU resources every time you screen on or scroll past it due to the fact it has to continually redraw. You are right, it is not much, but eliminating a widget that will only make you panic when you are actually seeing a number vs. a quick glance at the stock icon that is more than accurate enough for through out the day usage...I would personally save that space for a nice weather widget(which is the only widget on my screen) and get the added giddy-up of less CPU demand and one less burden on the battery. I agree also that the widget you suggested is probably one of the better ones on the market;)

Battery minder is a nice app I been using it for a few years.

Perhaps I'll give something like this a try. Honestly, I just want *somewhere* on the phone that I can go and actually see a percentage number. I don't need to see it all the time. I'm just surprised its nowhere to be found (not even in the battery settings that I can tell). I guess its a small thing anyway. ;) Its really one of the few things I like about my wife's moto (can't stand blur generally)... it has battery % on the lock screen so you know where you are when you unlock the phone.

This is my preferred one as well. It is more than just a simple widget, as it learns your battery uea habits and gives you a better estimate of how much you have left based on your usage habits.

hey... if we all quit toying with the phone and looking at the battery level, the battery will actually last longer!! j/k. I have just downloaded the Battery Minder widget - so far it's looking pretty good! Thanks.

I decided to try Battery Indicator... so far its perfect for my needs. It adds a % icon to the status bar, and also has information in the notification area. Not bad... :)

A good battery app, I've used it for a long time until I discovered 'Battery Monitor Widget' :)

This app additionally shows the charging/discharging current of phone, if you want it as icon at notification bar.

Battery monitor is one of the better apps if you want to know everything about your battery. It has status bar widgets that can show any combination of %, temperature, current, etc. It logs the history of your battery details and has a very nice graph which can help you visualize how your device is running.

Is battery monitor more accurate than battery indicator? Its been interesting running battery indicator. I'm surprised at a) how quickly the battery seems to discharge when using the phone at all (even on idle)... and b) when I go to the usage section, I see a game (nova 2), that I havn't played in a couple of days... I take it that the battery usage is historical? The thing is I have rarely used that one so far (and its not running when i look in task manager).

My second question is with charging... I tend to hook up via USB to my PC. Is it slower to charge when in drive mode with USB debugging on vs charge only mode? I've had my phone in for a few hours now and its not up nearly as much as I thought it would be at this point.

Thanks! Just trying to get a handle on expected behavior!

For charging you should use the wall charger which came with your phone.

With the wall charger the phone needs only the half of time for full charging as with charging with USB on PC.

This is because the charging current is doubled with the wall charger.
You should see this with 'Battery Monitor Widget' ;)
Nice grapic chart with charging current by time.

EDIT: I didn't notice a difference by accuracy between 'Battery Indicator' and 'Battery Monitor Widget' :)
