Battery percentage indicator?

Is there an option to put a battery status indicator in the status bar at the top of the screen? I'm on VZW.

Thanks

No not in default Jelly Bean, but i know that you can get an app like Battery Indicator, which puts a percentage on your status bar.

Otherwise you would need to root to get a percentage.

Well stock android is a no, but as already explained Samsung allows this, I know it is on the Galaxy S3 and the Note 2, not sure what phones before this had it on Touchwiz.

Settings/display/show battery percentage

Nice feature and stock android needs to get this in there as well.

I use Gauge Battery Widget because the percentage is too small on the stock indicator and I get battery temp reading as well.

Edit: it appears they changed the percentage from ICS. Instead of a tiny number inside the battery icon, it's a full sized number to the left of the icon. Much more useful.

But it's fugly :(

Like you I prefer Gauge, or Cool Tool as shown below.

Cool Tool has dozens of indicators to choose from, in any font size or font color, dim or bright, in any order, *anywhere* on the screen including *on top* of fugly stuff, hiding the fugliness. Cool Tool has "smart colored" real time gauges and graphs too.
