Battery percentage issue

My battery was at 32% but I noticed that something wasn't working on my phone so I turned it off and did a battery pull and restarted the phone. As soon as I turned it back on the battery read 22%. That's messed up. Anybody see this before? Is something wrong with my phone?

Booting the phone does use a lot of battery tbh mate.. not sure "how much" it should use but if u think about everything its having to launch, it probably uses a fair bit
(This is why task killer apps can be really bad for battery life)
I remember looking at my battery use chart and wondering why there was a HUGE vertical dip until i realised thats when i did a reboot

The percentage is just an estimate, its not really absolute.

Rebooting the phone will cause drops or can even raise the percent. It doesn't really have a significant effect on what you actually have left in the battery.

Yeah i should have said that. The phone kinda "estimates" percentage based on its memory of your use and the battery voltage

Thanks guys! didn't realize that. Good to know. Do you use the battery percentage or not? Just wondering what some people prefer. Would you rather see the percentage and battery bar or just the battery bar alone? I've gotten used to having the percentage there

I used to have the percentage showing, but I found I spent far too much time looking at it :p I find that my battery goes down slower if I have the percentage turned off - that's just a placebo effect really, but if I can't see how much I have left it *seems* to last longer. There is also a tiny amount of power/battery used to give an accurate reading instead of just the icon, but I imagine that's such a negligible amount that no one would ever notice its effect

I primarily leave it without the percentage, but the battery graph itself can be a bit deceiving this way... so i have a gsam battery monitor widget on one of my homescreens that i can swipe over to and get a percent quickly

Ive used Battery Notifier Pro (top left) for ages now

I dont find myself getting neurotic as the power drains lol
